Almost free laundry detergent.

The one thing I have learned about couponing is that you really cant be "brand loyal" I used to be a strict Tide and Snuggle kind of girl. But you know I can save a ton of money if I am not buying the ten dollar bottles of tide! So I have tried lots of kinds now, and with very few exceptions, I dont see too much difference. So at Kroger this week Carrie over at Money saving methods had a great post about really cheap laundry detergent or money making detergent depending on what coupons you have.

This week Kroger is having their buy 10 get 3 dollars off. and Purex is included...

Purex Laundry Detergent, 50oz., is included in this deal and is priced at $2.49 on sale ( reg $3.99 ). With the current promo, you get 30 cents off per item, so the price comes down to $2.19.

There are 3 different scenarios here..

Purex Money Maker

So, here is what you need to do:

Buy (2) Purex 50 oz. Laundry Detergents - $2.49 ea.
Save 30 cents ea. w/Promotion - now they are $2.19 ea
Use (2) $.35 Off Purex Coupons from Redplum Jan 10th insert - now $1.49 ea.
Get a $4.00 Catalina back from Purex.

Make $1.02
If you have enough Purex coupons, you can do this promotion again on a different transation.

2nd option: only have 1 Purex coupon?

Buy (2) Purex 50 oz. Laundry Detergents - $2.49 ea.
Save 30 cents ea. w/Promotion - now they are $2.19 ea
Use (1) $.35 Off Purex Coupons from Redplum Jan 10th insert - now $1.84 ea.
Get a $4.00 Catalina back from Purex
Make $.32

No coupons?

Then, you only pay 19 cents per Purex! Still not bad. Much Much better than 10 dollars a bottle when you do as much laundry as I do :-)

Stock up and Happy Clipping!!

OK, maybe I am slow, but if you have no coupons scenario...

buy 10 Purex and bring price down to 2.19 per container...total is $21.90 and get $4 back after purchase. Not getting where you get the $.19?

You buy 2 purex with no coupons. total is 4.38. You would get a 4 dollar catalina back so the bottles would be .19cents. You then repeat the process using the catalina this time and so on :-) So if you bought the total of 10 bottles for 21.90 you would have 20 dollars back in catalinas. The trick is that you would have to buy 8 other inexpensive items to get the 3 dollars off. Normally this isnt a big deal for me since they usually have goldfish or something for super cheap
